We got Gorgeous George, our initially feisty but now gentle giant fur ball Siberian Husky exactly two days after our Edward’s (Alaskan Malamute) unexpected passing last April. In fact, it was love at first sight when he showered us instantaneously with wet kisses the moment we first held him at his previous owner’s place. He immediately won us over! Upon arrival at home, his perky personality, hilarious antics, and affectionate demeanor cemented our bond!
Simple fact: Contrary to their fierce appearance, Siberian Huskies hardly bark but howl and are totally loyal, playful, and extremely friendly with everyone, especially with other dogs and children as well.
Gorgeous George is eight months old and has been with us for four months now. And boy, has he been winning hearts wherever we go! I’ve met and become friends with fellow dog lovers like professionals, diners and restaurant staff, and Filipino and Japanese kids plus their moms and nannies around Salcedo Village and on the High Street of Bonifacio Global City; shoppers and vendors at the Mahogany Market; and family weekenders coupled with Korean English students both at the Ayala Serin and Robinson’s Malls here in Tagaytay.
Truth be told, it actually wasn’t me who gave him the monicker Gorgeous
George but an intelligent, bespectacled young girl whom we met one weekend at the mall. While petting him, she asked what George’s name was and after I replied, she excitedly suggested that I must rename him Gorgeous George for obvious reasons! His mischievous but adorable look says it all: the eternally pasted genuine smile, the piercing but kind pair of ice-blue eyes enveloped with what seems to be a heavy application of jet-black eyeliners, those always on alert pointed ears, the extraordinary, bushy, white-tipped wagging tail, the soft, thick, predominantly gray coat, and his endearingly clumsy gait!
Expect to see a lot of Gorgeous George as he joins our adventures!
